A New Season of Partnership: Expanding Our Reach to Better Serve the Movement

For decades, Calvary Chapel Bible College has faithfully served the entire Calvary Chapel movement as a ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Through the leadership and financial support of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, generations of students, pastors, missionaries, and disciples have been equipped for a life of knowing and serving Christ. We are deeply grateful for that foundation—it has allowed us to train thousands of students in God’s Word and send them out for ministry.

In addition, we recognize that Calvary Chapel Bible College exists today because of the investment of countless pastors, churches, alumni, and supporters who have prayed, taught, and sacrificially given over the last 50 years. As we step into the next 50 years, we remain committed to building on that foundation—ensuring that future generations of students are prepared for a Spirit-filled life and ministry through the study of Scripture in Christ-centered community.

Now, as we look to the future, we are taking an important step to strengthen our ability to partner with all Calvary Chapel churches by becoming organizationally and financially independent of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. The goal is not to become merely a higher education institution but a better partner of many churches. We recognize that the primary mission of raising up the next generation of disciples and leaders belongs to the church. Our role is to come alongside pastors and congregations—to equip and support them as they fulfill this calling. By becoming an independent institution, we are not stepping away from our roots but stepping toward deeper collaboration with the entire Calvary Chapel family. This transition allows us to better serve pastors, churches, and students worldwide—coming alongside them in new and more effective ways.

As part of this transition, we are relocating our headquarters from Twin Peaks, California, to Bradenton, Florida, where we will continue to offer a fully residential campus experience in close partnership with WestChurch, a thriving Calvary Chapel. This new location provides students with hands-on ministry opportunities, allowing them to learn and serve alongside a vibrant local church while being equipped in God’s Word. This partnership is a model of what we desire for CCBC’s future—working closely with Calvary Chapels to train up the next generation for ministry, not just in the classroom, but in the life of the church.

At the same time, we are expanding our approach to biblical training by strengthening partnerships with local churches and Bible schools worldwide. We recognize that many Calvary Chapel churches are already engaged in training disciples through their own Bible schools and ministry programs. Rather than replacing these efforts, we want to support and enhance them. Through our new affiliation model, local churches and missionary-based Bible schools can partner with CCBC to provide students with a structured, academically sound Bible education while remaining deeply rooted in their home church or ministry context.

Through this initiative, we are:

  • Affiliating with local church-based Bible schools that run a shared program providing a foundation of Bible and ministry courses.
  • Partnering with global Bible schools embedded in a missionary context to equip students for cross-cultural ministry while they learn.
  • Offering dual enrollment opportunities, allowing students to begin their Bible education at their home church or on the mission field while earning credit toward a CCBC degree.
  • Providing training resources and support for pastors, missionaries, and church leaders who want to invest in equipping their congregations.
  • Creating pathways for students to move between affiliated schools, enabling them to experience a variety of ministry contexts—whether in a local church, a cross-cultural mission field, or a different region of the world.

Additionally, all of CCBC’s programs will continue to be available online, making it possible for students to complete their biblical education wherever they are. Whether students begin their studies at an affiliated school, in their local church, or on the mission field, our online courses provide the additional classes needed to complete a CCBC degree without requiring them to relocate.

This ability for students to move between affiliates not only enhances their education but also provides diverse avenues for experiencing different ministry contexts and pipelines to future ministry opportunities. Whether a student is called to pastoral ministry, missions, church planting, or a career in the marketplace, they will have the opportunity to be trained in environments that prepare them for their specific calling while remaining rooted in local churches, where discipleship and mission take place.

This next step in our mission reflects our long-standing commitment to equipping the church—not replacing it.This move is not just about location—it is about positioning CCBC to better serve the next generation of leaders, ensuring students can be trained in diverse contexts while remaining deeply connected to the life of the local church.

As we continue forward, our heart remains the same: to serve the broader Calvary Chapel movement by coming alongside churches and leaders to equip the next generation of disciples.

There are a lot of changes coming for CCBC, but here is what is not changing: We are still committed to our mission to prepare students for Spirit-filled life and ministry through the study of Scripture in Christ-centered community. This is not a move away from our mission—it is a step forward.

This is just the beginning of an exciting new season. We will be sharing more in the months ahead, and we invite you to stay tuned as we continue to step forward in faith.
